Connecting with Others

Despite the relative scarcity of PH suffers and caregivers, we are not alone. Through the internet, it's easy to stay connected with others who share common interests. The following is what I hope to be an exhaustive list of PH related communities and groups:
- PHA Message Boards - The PHA message boards contain many active participants, particularly in the General Discussion board. The other boards are more lightly attended.
- PHA Chat Rooms - PHA chat rooms allow you to online chat with others. Unlike the PHA message boards, the chats are "real time", meaning that the other participants are responding to your questions when you ask them. These chat rooms tend to cater to newly diagnosed patients.
- Raise Awareness for Pulmonary Hypertension - A new Facebook group dedicated to Pulmonary Hypertension. It is sponsored by the PHAssociation.
- Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness - A Facebook group dedicated to Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness. This community group appears to have a strong Canadian contingent.
- Daily Strength based Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group - An online support group. Does not appear to be very active or very large.
- MDJunction Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group - Newly launched online support group. Includes discussion boards, locations for articles and typical social networking activities.
- Pulmonary Hypertension: Support and Awareness - Pulmonary Hypertension Association supported MySpace online support group.
- facebook.com Sign up for free to join the Los Angeles PH Pediatric Support Group. Search for "Little Soldiers of Light." A great source for video, podcasts, info and all things Pediatric Peds related.
